Strawberry Spaghetti? Mountain, a Nagoya Cafe Experience

Mountain, a small, quirky cafe hidden away in a quiet neighborhood offers it's own unique experience. Whether you're looking to post an outrageous food picture on your instagram or trying to fill your stomach for a bargain, Mountain is definitely worth a visit. Or two.

Feel free to follow favy!

Cafe Mountain (喫茶マウンテン)

Quirky Exterior, At-Home Interior

From the outside, the restaurant looks like it could be found in a village somewhere in the alps. Once you step inside, it becomes apparent that the cafe has been around for a while. The furniture is worn, and the staff bustles around in a very familiar way. Smoking is allowed inside, so be conscious of this before you decide to visit.

Delicious Pasta

Mountain is known for its spaghetti dishes, and the menu has dozens of varieties to choose from. Regardless of what you choose, the volume of food that you get is huge. Props if you are able to finish the whole dish, but don't forget to save room for desert!

One Coin Menu (500 yen)

If you're trying to save your yen, the first place you should check out on the menu is the one coin (ワンコイン) section. Everything here is only 500 yen. Despite the cheap price, the volume is still massive, and you'll be hard pressed to finish everything. Definitely check out the hamburger omrice (オムハンライス)if you have the chance.

Sweet Spaghetti

I can't say the taste is my favorite, but you have to order at least one of the sweet spaghetti offered at Mountain. Strawberry, kiwi, banana, or matcha red bean are on offer, and make for a great instagram photo.

If you still have room after your giant main course (doubtful), try out one of the over-the-top desserts. The giant shaved ice filled with ice cream is a great option, as is one of the aforementioned sweet spaghetti.

Mountian is a quirky cafe offering some very unique dishes that are worth trying at least once. Stop by if you are in Nagoya and looking for a different place to eat!
