Colorful Animal Valentine

There is a growing trend in Japan for which couples share sweets together at cafes and restaurants instead of women giving chocolates to men as it was the case traditionally.

Tapping into this trend, Kawaii Monster Cafe has released its own unique 2019 Valentine menu featuring colourful animal-themed sweets and savoury dishes.

Rainbow Camel ¥1,150
For dessert, it features this impactful creation called the Rainbow Camel, which is a juicy french toast covered with colourful whipped cream, chocolate, fruits, and of course, a cute camel head.

Sexy Blue Ice Cream ¥850
This pastel blue ice cream topped with a pink chocolate heart and a pink pocky stink is definitely among one of their most Instagrammable items.

Orange Crush Rabbit Monster ¥1,580
This chocolate chicken burger is pretty bold, to say the least. Apparently, it's a dish that's originally from Mexico. The chocolate used is rich and bitter, and not too sweet so it goes surprisingly well with the crispy chicken.

Lastly...

The Valentine specials are from the 28th of January to the 14th of February. Give them a try if you're in the Harajuku area! See the location from the link below.
