Crazy Things To Do In Tokyo: The Lockup Restaurant!

Looking for something, weird, crazy, unique to do in Tokyo? Try The Lockup Restaurant in Shinjuku! The Lockup is a jail/horror themed restaurant straight from all your nightmares. Complete with jail cells and original themed cocktails and horror inspired food, Lockup makes an awesome night out in Tokyo. Definitely weird Japan!

Feel free to follow favy!

The Lockup Restaurant

Prepare to be "locked up" when you enter and taken to your cell in this jail themed restaurant.

They throw away the keys here...

With the tag line "...Contaminated with madness.." it oozes of Japanese wacky creativeness! The Lockup has several location in Japan with their Tokyo restaurant based in Shinjuku and only a short walk from Shinjuku station!

WARNING - You will be scared!

You soon notice that all the staff are wearing horror-themed costumes...
Which pill will you choose?

Yes, they do have these on the menu!

They just threw away the key...

After having been "locked up" take some time looking through the menu. They have lots of interesting and unusual things to choose. Order a few things and share between your group. That way you'll get to try more!

Thirsty for blood?

Lucky for all the vampires and zombies out there Lockup has a Blood Bag Cocktail to kick off the feasting frenzy!
The best thing about this place is the way everything is served - in experiment lab glassware and test tubes, adding to the ambiance of the place.

Food from HELL!

If there's one thing you need to order, it's the Devils Hand (roasted chicken if you were wondering). Can I say "finger lickin' good"?!
The creaters have definitely got a thing for eyeballs here too, with lots of dishes coming with accompanying eyeballs... it's kinda creepy, but these chocolate desserts are disgustingly good!
Seen Sausage Party? I can't help hearing Seth Rogen's voice when I see these guys!
This one doesn't come with eyes, however it is super delicious. Taco rice!

Desserts that give you the jeepers!

Moving on to dessert are... you guessed it, more eyeballs. This time in chocolate and created as a parfait.
If you are planning on drinking they do have an all you can drink menu - which you shouldn't look past, especially if you have more than a few. My favourite, the eyeball and vein cocktail in a lab test tube!

Are you game?

I should warn you, the lights go out every so often... then the staff run around scaring customers!
