Starbucks' New Roasterie in Nakameguro

Shop front in Nakameguro.
Tomorrow, February 28th at 7 AM, Starbucks will open its biggest roasterie in the world at Nakameguro, a trendy city in Tokyo.

Starbucks Reserve Roasterie Tokyo is not only the first roasterie to be opened in Japan, but the biggest ever, boasting 32,000-square-foot (2,973-square-meters) in size in four-stories.

Designed by the Japanese architect Kengo Kuma, it's definitely not an ordinary shop. It features on-premise roasters and colossal coffee barrels where freshly roasted beans are kept. It's also home to the world's largest Teavana tea bar.
In Roastarie Tokyo you'll be able to enjoy a menu of more than 100 unique coffee and tea beverages and a variety of goodies, like the ones served by the first authentic Italian bakery in Japan, "Princi". It also has an Arriviamo cocktail bar.
The timing and location couldn't have been more carefully chosen.
Inspired by the famous cherry blossoms that bloom along the Meguro River, the design aims to fuse the natural beauty of the seasons with the interior of the shop. Customers will be able to gaze at cherry blossoms through glass walls, as well as sip beverages on an outdoor terrace now that the temperatures are rising.

Prepare yourself for some serious lines!
