Kani Doraku

Kani Doraku is a very popular chain in Japan that specializes in crab cuisine. The original location is right here in Dotombori Osaka. You cannot miss their huge crab signboard which has become a landmark of Dotombori along with the Glicoman sign.

They serve their own special course that is a real feast called the "kanisuki". Kanisuki is crab served sukiyaki style. You dip the pieces in a hotpot before eating them with or without a dipping sauce. The price is around ¥6,000 to ¥9,000 for dinner and ¥3,000 for lunch. There are all kinds of different sets.

Kani Bugyo

This restaurant is conveniently located in the popular Namba area. It has an all-you-can-eat crab buffet for ¥5,980 that includes boiled crab, crab hotpot and even crab tempura which is something very unusual but so tasty! Aside from the crab, you can also enjoy sushi and sashimi as well as other kinds of freshly made tempura.

Ryoshi no Utage

This place located near Hankyu Ju-san station is called "fisherman's banquet". It's an izakaya with a really nice warm atmosphere that specializes in seafood and where you can have a great all-you-can-eat Hokkaido crab hotpot. They have the reputation of having nice local sake too.

Osaka Kanigen

This is a good restaurant in Shinsaibashi where you can have either crab hotpot or crab "kaisenyaki" which is cooked over a grill at your table. Kaisenyaki is also a very fun way to enjoy the crab. Cook it slowly over the fire, try out different parts and enjoy good sake while chatting away in good company. A good item to order is apparently the kani-miso (a miso-like paste found in the crab). Japanese people love that part.

Chiso Zanmai

This restaurant is a fun buffet where there is all sort of Japanese delicacies for you to try, including crab and plenty of sushi. For those with a sweet tooth, you will love their sweets corner too. The place resembles a fancy hotel restaurant. It's on the 14th floor of the Daimaru Umeda Building in Umeda.
