Kewpie's History

Kewpie's history is one of huge success. Established in 1919, the company first launched Kewpie Mayonnaise in 1925, in a glass jar. It was the first mayonnaise sold in Japan.
The total volume shipped on the initial year was 600kg. The volume had increased to 7 tons in the following year.
Since then, Kewpie's mayo is a staple condiment in Japan, dubbed as the tastiest mayonnaise of all. The secret to its remarkably rich flavor? Egg yolk! Instead of a whole egg, only egg yolks are used to prepare it.

kewpie 100 years, start! CAFE

"kewpie 100 years, start! CAFE". You may be wondering, but yes, this is the name given to the temporary spot created to celebrate a century of Kewpie's delicious mayonnaise. A bit strange, but who cares? It's Kewpie!

The cafe, located in Roppongi Hills, has already been attracting flocks of people ready to honor the beloved mayo brand. It opens at 11:00 am, so if you want to be one of the first customers, arrive early!

The menu is mostly composed of hearty salads, like shrimp avocado (880 yen), ham strawberry power salad (800 yen), and seasonal vegetable salad (800 yen).
There's also an egg and vegetable sandwich and a bread box with scrambled eggs, both for 1,000 yen. And of course, the unmistakable bottle of mayo is available everywhere throughout the shop! It's an all-you-can-eat-mayo thing!
And for dessert, a smooth mayo PUDDING! Let's see if you're a true mayo fan with that one!
