What is 博多ラーメン"Hakata Ramen"?

Hakata Ramen(博多ラーメン)originates from food stands of the Nagahama(長浜) area. The noodles are thick and straight, and the ivory soup is tonkotsu-based, which means it is made of pork bone broth. "Hakata Ramen" is a really famous and popular local kind of ramen which has many big fans around Japan!

In this article, we will focus on Hakata ramen with a "kotteri soup"!
"Kotteri" refers to the heavy and more creamy pork broth ramen.

八ちゃんラーメン(Hacchan Ramen) 薬院店(Yakuin Branch)

At a 3-minute walk from Nishitetsu Yakuin Station(西鉄薬院駅), you can find Hacchan Ramen. The Hacchan Ramen, Yakkuin branch, is open from 9 PM to 2:30 AM.

The soup is really heavy and so creamy! The deep Tonkotsu taste goes well with the thin flat noodles.

博多一双(Hakata Isso) 博多駅東本店(Hakata Station Higashi Honten)

From Hakata Station(博多駅), it's just at a 6-minute walk. The owner trained as a Ramen chef at one of the famous Ramen shops called "Ikkosha"(一幸舎).

This bubble soup is the signature dish of Hakata Isso Ramen. This ramen is super rich too so you can enjoy the natural sweetness of the pork coming from the broth.

Located a 5-minute walk from Watanabedori Station(渡辺通駅), this ramen with huge pieces of chashu pork is so delicious!

Akanoren Ramen shop is located next to a department store called Tenjin Daimaru(天神大丸). Akanoren Ramen began in 1946, and has been run by three generations of the same family. The great tonkotsu traditional taste has never changed.
