Japanese food is known as healthy. However, if you are a big meat lover, you might have felt Japanese food is not quite satisfying. If so, just try Shabu Shabu! You can enjoy high-class beef such as Kobe Beef staying healthy. What's the tip for Shabu Shabu? Just have fun!

1. Imahan 今半 (Ningyocho)

Imahan is one of the best shabu shabu and sukiyaki restaurants in Japan. Costumers rave about the high quality of their beef, that can either be tasted with sukiyaki, or a truly delicious shabu shabu.

2. Rokkasen 六歌仙 (Shinjuku)

Only two minutes away from Shinjuku Station's West Exit, you'll find Rokkasen. You can enjoy shabu shabu, yakiniku, and a sukiyaki buffet for 2,000 to 3,000 yen during the day.
One of the features that please foreigners is that you can order via tablet, in English, Chinese, or Thai.

3. Kojiro 小次郎 (Suidobashi)

If you're looking for a more relaxed ambiance, Kojiro is perfect. This izakaya-style restaurant offers you a shabu shabu buffet for the reasonable price of 3,000 yen. Choose from different cuts of pork and even chicken. They also have an all-you-can-eat "Tofu bar".

4. 佐々木 Sasaki (Mitsukoshimae)

You will have to take off your shoes for this one! Sasaki has a friendly and cozy atmosphere where you can enjoy shabu shabu or sukiyaki for just 1,000 yen during lunchtime. It is run by a butcher, so the meat quality is guaranteed.

5. Butagumi Shabu-an (Roppongi)

Butagumi serves pork shabu shabu exclusively. They have a strict selection of branded pork all over Japan. The perfect slices of pork are freshly cut after the order. They also have private rooms, perfect for a casual meeting or special date.

6. Yonezawagyu Oki

Yonezawa is one of the three most famous beef brands of Japan, along with Kobe and Matsusaka. Either with sukiyaki or shabu shabu, the meat will melt in your mouth and you will want to came back.

Kinka Pork Cooking Hirata Farm Kiwami

8. Ginza Shabutsu Yoshi No Sasa

Yoshi No Sasa offers marbled beef and fresh vegetables directly delivered by a farmer. This is the best restaurant to enjoy shabu shabu in a luxurious space with a stunning view. Make sure to get a table by the window!

9. Zakuro Ginza

Located just one minute by foot from Ginza station, Zakuro showcases a traditional atmosphere, with staff wearing kimono and the display of traditional charbroiled hotpot. Always busy due to its excellent quality of meat and easy location.

10. Imafuku 今福 (Shirogane)

Last, but not least, Imafuku, an acclaimed 2-star Michelin sukiyaki restaurant. This restaurant serves delicious Wagyu shabu shabu and sukiyaki in the upscale neighborhood of Shirogane. This is probably as good as it gets in terms of shabu shabu!
