Japan and France Meet at Terunari

Terunari offers a variety of innovative Japanese and French cuisine. Japanese and wine. French and sake. Enjoy this delicious mixture!

Feel free to follow favy!

Terunari is a unique restaurant that puts an innovative spin on kaiseki by incorporating French influences.
The creative mind and executor behind Terunari is French-trained chef Kanichi Tokumoto, working under chef Akihiko Murata of Terunari’s Michelin-starred sister restaurant Suzunari.

Their course menu can be savored for 4,500 yen and includes a variety of small dishes, such as sardines simmered with ume plum and ginger to tuna served with red konjac, and aji (mackerel) layered with cucumber and miso tartar which packs that umami flavor we all want.
You can also try a crisp monaka (wafer sandwich, usually sweet) filled with chicken liver pâté, and chawanmushi egg custard made more substantial with beef tendon and a hint of wasabi.
The meal ends with Terunari’s signature rice dish, a combination of sweet pork marinated in shoyu and mirin, and steamed with a perfectly plump tomato and fresh basil inside a Japanese clay pot.
If you're a foodie or not, this kaiseki meal is a must try!
