Must-Try Sushi Restaurants in Ikebukuro

Ikebukuro is one of the busiest stations in Tokyo, millions of people commute there everyday. It's a great place for shopping as there are many huge shopping mall complexes, as well as smaller shops. You can enjoy the many wine bars, cafes, cheap bars. There's something for everyone to enjoy in this neighbourhood. When you want to grab a bite by yourself, or with a larger group, sushi restaurants are perfect. There are very affordable and delicious; and conveyor belt restaurants are really fun to try!

Midori Sushi Echika Ikebukuro

This restaurant always has a line-up; it is highly popular especially with locals. Why?
Because their formula is effective: they serve great quality fish for a cheap price.
There's also a take-out option if you don't want to wait.
A sushi set is between ¥1,050- ¥2,800.
Definitely worth trying!

Katsu Midori Sushi

Located in Seibu Ikebukuro, this is a great place to have cheap sushi.
There tends to be a long line, but service tends to be very quick.
This resto has a conveyor belt, so it makes it exciting to grab the plate you like as it goes by. There's an English menu and it is very easy to order.
Dishes start at ¥100! And there are child meals, making it family-friendly!

Tenkazushi

A few minutes walk from Ikebukuro station, this conveyor belt sushi is cheap and good!
You can just sit down, make yourself a cup of green tea and enjoy picking plates as they pass in front of you on the belt. The dishes are color-coded for the price.
They also have take-out.

Sushi Zanmai

Sushi Zanmai is very close to Ikebukuro station, by the South exit.
Their set menu starts at ¥1,500 for a bowl or ¥2,000 for a sushi plate.
This restaurant's main store is in Tsukiji (fish market) and upholds its quality standards amongst all of its stores. It won't disappoint!
They are especially famous for the "maguro" (tuna).

Muten Kura Sushi

Muten Kura Sushi is also a conveyor belt restaurant close to the station. It is cheap and delicious. A plate starts at ¥100.
There can be a long line, so you should get a reservation at busy times.
Great for families, as they have many different dishes to try from apart from sushi, as well as desserts.
