Sushi Tokyo Ten is a sushi restaurant located on the 3rd floor of Shibuya Stream, near Shibuya station.

It has the atmosphere of a high-end sushi restaurant but it is actually more of a mid-range priced sushi restaurant with omakase courses (courses that are left to the chef to decide) at around ¥7,000.

The clean-lined interior with warm lighting and a beautiful wooden counter is relaxing and the perfect place to have a wonderful sushi experience. You should sit at the counter to see the chef prepare each piece of sushi and place on your plate right in front of you. This is the 'edomae' style or the traditional way in Tokyo to enjoy sushi.

For a dinner omakase, it is ¥7,000. This might sound a little expensive but if you compare it to other omakase courses at high-end restaurants it's actually quite reasonable, especially considering the wonderful quality and the skill of the young but very talented chef.

If you want an even better deal, you can even go for lunch, in which case the omakase will cost you ¥3,500.

You will mostly get served nigiri sushi if you go for the omakase, but there are other items too such as clam soup and chawanmushi (a savoury custard). You can tell the chef if there are some things you don't like and he'll avoid them for your course. Drinks are not included in omakase courses. You can have a beer, shochu (Japanese spirit) or a cup of sake for around ¥600.

Lastly...

Sushi Tokyo Ten is the perfect place to get something similar to a high-end sushi experience without having to pay the ¥20,000 bill per person. A restaurant is definitely a good option for superb sushi in Shibuya.
