The Most Beautiful Fruit and Cream Sandwiches in Tokyo! [Jules Verne]

'Jules Verne Coffee' is a specialty coffee roaster and cafe in Tokyo's Koenji neighborhood (west of Shinjuku). In addition to amazing coffee that has previously taken an award at a coffee roasting competition, the shop serves some of the most beautiful sandwiches you'll ever see using fresh, seasonal fruit and cream.

Feel free to follow favy!

Beautiful Sandwiches at Jules Verne Coffee

Right: 2-piece strawberry sandwich, ¥650
'Jules Verne Coffee' is a cafe in Tokyo's Koenji neighborhood that has been creating quite a buzz lately thanks to its wonderfully photogenic fruit and cream sandwiches, which are popular enough that folks have been lining up out the door to get one. Indeed, despite limiting the sandwiches to just one per customer, there are days when they sell out well before closing time!

The Popular Strawberry Sandwich uses the Best Strawberries Available at that Time!

2-piece strawberry sandwich, ¥650
Jules Verne Coffee's strawberry sandwich is quite special, as it uses only the most delicious strawberries available at the time! The shop is quite particular about the strawberries they choose, so you can be confident that it'll always be great.

Large, whole strawberries are surrounded by a generous portion of cream and sandwiched between two pieces of soft, crust-less bread. It's almost like eating strawberry shortcake! The cream is not overly sweet, and is balanced by the acidity and sweetness of the lush strawberries.
2-piece mixed fruit sandwich, ¥600
The mixed fruit sandwich is perhaps even more visually appealing! This picture was taken back in the winter time, so it featured strawberries and mandarin oranges (winter fruits), but the fruits used will vary based on the season! Other seasons will see kiwi, peach, mango, and even Kyoho grapes being used! The sandwich is plump with filling and an absolute treat to eat!

Awesome Coffee Roasted In-House!

Costa Rica drip coffee, ¥600
Although the fruit sandwiches have taken the spotlight recently (understandably so), Jules Verne Coffee(member of the Specialty Coffee Association)'s true specialty is their in-house roasted coffee!
Their original origin and blend coffees are fantastic, and shouldn't be missed while you're here.

Jules Verne Coffee is just 9 minutes from Higashi Koenji Station!

Jules Verne Coffee is located on the JR Chuo Line between Higashi Koenji Station and Asagaya Station. The cafe is on the first floor of a stylishly-renovated old apartment building. Check it out next time you're in the area!
