Discount beef tongue all-you-can-eat shabu shabu

Beef tongue, called 'gyutan' in Japanese, is a healthy delicacy that most Japanese people love. Even when cut into thin slices, it has a pretty chewy texture, and that's what people love about it.

It's often enjoyed grilled at yakiniku restaurants, but it can also be used as an ingredient in shabu shabu and other hotpots.

Shabu shabu-style is how you can enjoy it at Merino's Ginza and Yokohama locations, and those two locations are offering a limited time ¥910/person discount on their popular all-you-can-eat courses to celebrate Japan's unofficial 'gyutan' day on September 10th.

In case you're wondering what in the world is beef tongue day, here's a brief explanation. In Japanese 9/10 has a somewhat similar pronunciation to 'gyutan', that is if 9 is pronounced in Japanese and the 10 is pronounced in English. So there you have it. It's a bit of a stretch... but who cares if you can enjoy delicious gyutan to your heart's content for a pretty cheap price. Note that the special is actually for a 10 day period from the first to the 10th of September.

The best deal in town ideal for eating lots of gyutan... but also other delicious foods!

The cheapest course including gyutan is ¥4,480 (regular price) so with the discount, it goes down to ¥3,570, which is quite the deal, especially considering that at that price you also get lamb meat (rare in Japan), a variety of vegetables, udon noodles, five kinds of deserts, a variety of soft drinks, teas, and juices too.

・September 1st to September 10th, 2019
・Two people or more must order the special
・Available only at the Ginza and Yokohama locations
