Mr. Farmer Shinjuku: Super Healhty Resto With Vegan Options

If you're looking to get a good dose of fresh fruits and veggies in Shinjuku, then Mr. Farmer might be your best bet. They have lots of good vegan options too!

Feel free to follow favy!

Mr Farmer Shinjuku Location

Mr. Farmer is a restaurant chain with four locations in Tokyo and one in Chiba. The restaurant specializes in healthy foods that include large salads vegan options as well as 'power protein' meals of lean meat and vegetables. Most of the fruits and vegetable used by Mr. Farmer are grown by local farmers.

Below is the information for the popular Shinjuku restaurant. If you're planning to get there from the Shinjuku Station, take the south exit and you will be at a one minute walk from the restaurant.

Mr. Farmer serves some tasty vegan foods for breakfast, lunch or dinner. The most popular item on the vegan menu is the Vegan Burger With Avocado & Teriyaki Sauce (¥1,690). The hearty burger is stuffed with a thick soy patty, tomato, avocado, lettuce, vegan mustard mayonnaise, and a super savoury red wine teriyaki sauce. It comes along with a caponata salad too.

Other vegan options include a vegetable green curry with brown rice, a loco moco, an Asian salad wrap (also served for breakfast), and some salads.

Mr. Farmer's salads, which are a large part of why the chain is so successful, are huge, gorgeous and original. They have them both vegan and some have some chicken or smoked salmon trout toppings. They have ready-made ones or you can customize your own salad by selecting four toppings and one homemade dressing. You can also add some extra toppings at a small extra charge.

The salades range in price from ¥1,150 to ¥1,590, and for an extra ¥400, you can make them into a set that comes with bread and the vegetable soup of the day.

Power Protein

Designed for the athletic type of people, they have some high-protein plates that feature lean meat, and that are packed with vegetables and foods like brown rice and quinoa that have slow-digesting carbs.

Fruit/Veggie Smoothies

Very popular on the menu are their colourful fruit and vegetable smoothies. The different mixes serve different health-related purposes. You can have for instance a cleansing one that contains various greens or a beauty one that is made from a mix of fruits high in polyphenols. Smoothies are all ¥790.

Fruit and vegetable-flavoured water bar

The water bar is an interesting perk that you get by eating at Mr. Farmer. They have various kinds of water that are flavoured by having vegetables and fruits soaked into them.

You might want to check out their dessert menu before you leave! Made 'for your beauty and health' as Mr. Farmer says, the desserts are vegan, made with good quality raw ingredients including fruits, nuts and vegetables, are not too sweet and have a presentation worthy of desserts served at high-end restaurants.
