Tempura Mochiku

Mochiku is a reputable tempura house of long-standing in Ginza. You can enjoy there lunch sets that are fairly reasonably-priced (around ¥3,000 to ¥4,000) and very high-end dinner courses of over ¥20,000 per person.
The layout of the 8-seat cozy restaurant is simple, with an L-shaped counter surrounding the kitchen. Patrons sitting at the counter get to see the tempura chefs fry the tempura right before there eyes.
Every ingredient is top-quality, and many items are only taken when in season, so the menu changes accordingly. Tempura pieces are served immediately after being fried. The coating is not too thick, just light and crispy.
If you go there for lunch, you can enjoy a satisfyingly large tendon (bowl of rice with several tempura pieces as toppings) with a soup and Japanese-style pickles.
The dinner experience consists of an 'omakase' (leave it to the chef) course during which you are served beautiful, delectable pieces of tempura one at a time.


Mochiku is a small venue and is one of the most reputable tempura restaurants in Ginza, so naturally, if you'd like to eat there, making a reservation is almost necessary.
