King George Cafe

King George Cafe, in fashionable Daikanyama, is arguably one of the best places in Tokyo to enjoy a nice vegetarian sandwich. The restaurant is located about a 5-minute walk from Daikanyama station.

Walk into the cafe and the first thing that will probably strike you is the beautiful antic British furniture! The atmosphere is so peaceful and quaint.

That vibe alone is a reason to visit but the real claim to fame of the cafe are the huge 10-cm thick healthy sandwiches!
They have all sorts, so you should find something on the menu that tickles your fancy, but perhaps the sandwich that really stands out here is the vegetarian one (¥1,500) made from 11 different kinds of fresh vegetables. With ingredients that are cut and assembled with incredible precision, it's been on fire on Japanese social media.

Have you ever see such a beautiful sandwich!?
Not only does it look great, but the simple natural taste of the fresh vegetables coupled with the right balance of condiments is on point.
People love that you can choose from three different kinds of bread too (rye, dark rye, and sesame.

There are also some delicious homemade fruit smoothies that you might want to order with your sandwich. Try this luscious mango-apple smoothie (¥800). It's probably not possible to pack more natural vitamins in a meal!

The last reason why you should go to King George Cafe is the surprisingly large and pleasant roof-top terrace! Is this place even real in central Tokyo!? Very few cafes have this kind of relaxing outdoor space.
You won't regret giving this place a try if you haven't already!
