Yabaton is famous for their huge katsu! You will be so satisfied after eating at this place. Due to its large size, some people order katsu without rice. If you want to try authentic and refined miso katsu, you should definitely go here. Their famous huge tonkatsu is called "Waraji tonkatsu", available at ¥1,296. Less than a minute walk from JR Nagoya station and subway Nagoya station.

Hyoutan-ya (ひょうたんや)

Established more than 60 years ago, Hyotan-ya is famous for their huge ebi fry (fried shrimp covered with bread crumbs) and huge katsu! Its atmosphere is very calming, and if you order ebi-miso katsu, you can try both. You can choose the size of the shrimp, and an approximate price is the following: large for ¥1,700~1,900, medium for ¥1,300~1,500, and regular for ¥1,000~1,200.

Taira (たいら)

If you are interested in trying miso katsu, but not sure how you feel about the calorie and all? You should try their grilled miso katsu called "yaki katsu"! You can have a healhty yet delicious miso katsu experience! Their miso katsu is available from ¥1,470.

Tonpachi's miso katsu is famous for their rich yet elegant miso sauce. In the picture miso sauce looks really thick, but in reality it is rather light, which is easier to eat. Just a few minute walk from Maizuru station, you can try their miso katsu around ¥1,450.

Ramuchii (黒豚屋 らむちい)

With Jazz music playing in the background, this place serves high quality, soft, and somewhat thick and sweet miso katsu. Green onion adds the fresh taste to its thick miso sauce, and you can have unlimited refill rice and miso soup. Their pork is not seasoned with salt or pepper, to bring out pork's taste. Their miso katsu set is available from ¥1,680.
Just a 3 minute walk from Sakae station, no.16 exit.
