A Restaurant With Variation In Their Lunch And Dinner Menu: "Soba-no-mi Yoshimura"

This soba noodle restaurant is located 9 minutes from Shijyo Karasuma station. During lunch time they have set menus and many a la carte dishes to choose from during dinner time. The chef uses Japan produced buckwheat, and uses freshly grounded millstone for their handmade soba noodles.

There are three other stores located within Kyoto, so trying out their different menus may be fun too!

A Soba Noodle Restaurant First Established As A Dessert Store: "Obariya"

After a 8 minute walk from Karasuma station, you will find this soba noodle restaurant "Honke Obariya Yonjo Store." This resturant started as a dessert store in the Muromachi Era and started making soba noodles from the 1700s. With a 550 year-long history, you can enjoy authentic soba noodles at this restaurant!

After Enjoying Your Sake, Have Some Good Soba At "Sakae-An!"

"Sakae-an" is located within a 2 minute walk from Karasuma station. This restaurant has a variety of Japanese sake and serves a la carte dishes using duck and horse meat that goes with the sake. After drinking your sake, it is recommended to order their soba noodles. You can choose from 10 different soba noodles!

A 24-Hour Open Store "Sasaya" Makes Soba Noodles With Their Homemade Buckwheat Flour

"Sasaya" is only a 5 minute walk from Karasuma station. They only use buckwheat that they get from their contract farmer to make their homemade wheat to make their soba noodles. Not just soba noodles, but their rice is also from their contract farmer, so their bowls use high quality rice that you can order with your soba noodles.

As this restaurant is open for 24 hours, you can have a nice, calm dinner or eat here after a night out!

A Soba Noodle Restaurant Established In Edo Period: "Kawamichiya"

Walking 2 minutes from Karasuma station, there is a department store, Daimaru. Inside the department store, you will find "Kawamichiya" on the 8th floor. This store has been serving soba noodles since the Edo period, and has over 20 different soba noodle dishes!

They also have seasonal menus during the summer and winter!
