9 Selected Places to Try Sushi in Nagoya!

Sushi is probably the most popular Japanese food and you can find sushi restaurants everywhere in Japan! But sometimes it could be overwhelming. So we've made a list of sushi places that you must visit in Nagoya!

Furari Sushi (ふらり寿司)

Just a 5 minute walk from Nagoya station, you can try reasonable fresh sushi here! They have 90 minutes all-you-can-eat sushi bar for ¥3,580 for males and ¥3,280 for females, which is worth checking out. They also have a unique shabu-shabu course menu where you dip maguro (tuna fish) into hot boiling water instead of pork or beef (¥5,500). Aside from their course menu, their sushi is available from ¥120.

Shou (すし市場 正 本店)

If you want to experience conveyor belt sushi, this place is strongly recommended! Their sashimi toppings are huge and satisfying, which is one of the reasons why they are really popular among people in Nagoya. Depending on what sashimi toppings you choose to eat, you can try their sushi for around ¥130~1,240 per plate.
Less than a minute walk from Hokubu Shijo bus stop.

Yanagibashi Kitarou (柳橋 きたろう)

If you are looking for high quality sushi with reasonable price, you should stop by Yanagibashi Kitarou. Originally opened in Tsukiji, the authentic fish market in Tokyo, this is one of the branches in Japan where you can enjoy fresh sushi.
Their sushi is around ¥100~680. Their Kaisendon (sashimi topping bowl) is strongly recommended (¥1,500) too! Around a 5 minute walk from Nagoya station, Sakura-dori exit.

Sengoku Sushi (仙石すし 本店)

Established almost 70 years ago, this place offers expensive sashimi toppings just from ¥105! If you want a satisfying sushi experience, you should definitely stop by. Around a 10 minute walk from Nagoya station, west exit.

Mori Mori Sushi (もりもり寿し イオンモール新瑞橋店)

Have you been to Kanazawa before? Kanazawa is a really popular tourism place in Japan. Whether you have been or not, this is a great place to try sushi from Kanazawa! This place is also a conveyor belt sushi restaurant, where you can enjoy high quality sushi for just around ¥160~850.
Around a 5 minute walk from Aratamabashi station.

Sushi Hijikata (鮨 土方)

This is a fancy and hidden sushi restaurant located on the basement of a building near Sakae station. The entrance doesn't look like a restaurant, but don't worry, the chefs and staff will welcome you.

They serve a great quality of sushi, and they are popular although expensive (people usually spend 20000-25000 yen). The sushi that the chefs make in front of you is very delicate, fresh, and rich. You will get surprised with their sushi. I recommend you to make a reservation.

Ishiguro (いし黒)

If you want to experience fancy sushi for reasonably-priced, this place is the one you should go. It is located around 8 minutes from Nagoya station.

They offer a nice atmosphere and chefs' special fresh sushi. You can order a course menu for only 2000 yen for lunch and 7500 yen for dinner! As this is also a famous restaurant, it is recommended to make a reservation.

Nigiri no Tokube (にぎりの徳兵衛)

This is a popular "kaiten sushi" restaurant in Nagoya. "Kaiten sushi" is like a fast-food sushi shop where sushi plates on a rotating conveyor belt runs by every table and counter seat. Customers can choose and get the sushi they want to eat as it passes by.

The sushi is affordable yet great quality. You can try many kinds of sushi while enjoying to pick your sushi from the conveyor belt. If you have never done before, you should experience "kaiten sushi"!

Genji - Hilton Nagoya (源氏 ヒルトン名古屋)

Genji is a Japanese buffet restaurant on the 3rd floor of Hilton Hotel Nagoya, and they offer sushi buffet at lunchtime.

Although it is buffet style, the quality is great and you can enjoy watching the chefs making your sushi too. The lunch buffet is 3000 yen for 60 minutes. If you want to eat sushi as much as you can, go to this restaurant and fulfill your stomach!
