Feel free to follow favy!

Andhra Kitchen

Andhra Kitchen, near Okachimachi Station, is a restaurant specializing in South Indian cuisine.

They have affordable lunch sets (around ¥1,000). Their special ¥2,100 is particularly worth it because you get so much variety. Indeed, that course includes three types of vegetable curries, riyal, sambar, rasam yogurt chapathi, pickles, papad, basmathi rice and a dessert. What's more, the sambar, rasam and rice are all-you-can-eat, so go there with an appetite!

Halima Kebab Biryani

Biryani is in the name of the restaurant for a reason; it's delicious at Halima Kebab Biryani.
If Biryani isn't your favorite, you can always go for something from the tandoor or play it safe with one of the delicious curries on offer. The restaurant is located just 5 minutes away from Ueno Station.

This restaurant is certified halal.

VEG KITCHEN

This is a small restaurant that is 100% vegetarian (vegans should ask what contains dairy). The cuisine here is a mix of both South and North Indian cuisine, and they even have some interesting fusion Chinese-Indian dishes. The Indian chef has years of experience, so the food here is the real deal in terms of authentic flavor. Prices are reasonable (¥1,000 for a lunch set and 1,900 for dinner sets).

SITAARA DINER

Sitaara is a restaurant that started in Aoyama in 2004 but has now expanded into a small chain with four locations in Tokyo, including this one in Ueno. The menu is simple but everything is delicious. Choose between a single curry set (¥960), a double curry set (1,120), a biriyani set (¥1,200), or a tadoori chicken set (¥1,420).

Venu's South Indian Dining

This is another restaurant specializing in South Indian cuisine. They have some excellent vegetarian options here so it's well-known in that community. The fish curries are particularly tasty, so give those a try if you're wondering what to have. Prices for the sets vary from ¥1,200 to ¥1,500 for dinner, and ¥850 to ¥1,050 for lunch. They even have cheap take-out ¥680 bento boxes that you can eat in the nearby Ueno Park.
