Your Essential Guide to Indian Cuisine in Osaka!

Osaka City

South Asian cuisine is simply scrumptious and flavourful. Indian or Pakistani cuisine is perfect for any weather and is always delicious! There are so many dishes to try, you'll always find something new to taste, or you can stick to your classics. Whatever floats your boat! Mine are butter chicken and mango lassi.

Feel free to follow favy!

Ali's Kitchen Halal Restaurant

Ali's Kitchen isn't Indian, but South Asian cuisine, more specifically Pakistani cuisine with also a selection of Arabic cuisine. Plus, it's halal!
You can be sure this restaurant is delicious as it was mentioned in the Michelin guide in 2017. They have a huge selection of curry (they claim to have the word's largest selection with 660 dishes to choose from), but they also have hummus. I don't know about you, but that makes me pretty happy, all my favourite cuisine under one roof! Lunch is super cheap, for only ¥750 (and up) you get a generous set with curry and naan bread.

Banjara

Banjara is an Indian restaurant near Umeda station in Osaka. Their lunch sets start at ¥850, it's quite the deal for such great and authentic Indian cuisine. You should try the butter chicken curry and the mango lassi!

Singh's Kitchen

Singh's Kitchen is an authentic Indian restaurant close to the Dotonbori area. For lunch, you get a set for less than ¥1,000! You should try the mango lassi and the butter chicken!

Camp (野菜を食べるカレー camp)

Camp is an original concept based around camping and isn't your typical Indian restaurant. In fact, they also have Thai curry and Japanese curry. It's wonderful and inexpensive, and also they have vegetarian options. I guess that makes everyone happy, doesn't it? You should try the vegetable curry, it's loaded with veggies and it's awesome! Curry is around ¥1,000!

Yakumido Curry & Rice

Yakumido Curry & Rice is more of a Japanese curry and Indian curry mix restaurant to be fair, but it is spicier than your typical Japanese curry and so is worth the mention! The owner is super friendly and welcoming, it is worth visiting the shop simply to interact with this interesting fella. Plus, for around ¥1,000, you get delicious curry that the owner will gladly adapt to your taste (spiciness level, vegetarian or not, etc.) Worth the visit!
