One of the most famous sushi restaurant located 5 minutes walk from Sendai station. They offer great atmosphere and sushi.

They only use the selected rice from local farmer, considering the rice is the most important part for sushi. The seafood is also very fresh and high-quality. There are some sushi set menu ranging from 3000-7000 yen that include seasonal seafood.

2. Kameki Sushi (亀喜寿司)

Located near Honshiogama station, Kameki is also very popular and famous for its freshest sushi.

As it is close to a fish market and coastline, they can serve fresh and seasonal seafood. They cut them into thick pieces and make luxurious sushi. The course menu are from 5000 to 10000 yen. They also serve a variety of rolls and chirashi (a rice bowl topped with various kind of seafood).

3. Arahama (あら浜)

A seafood restaurant located 6 minutes walk from Sendai station serves local food made from local and fresh ingredients.

Since they offer high-quality sushi and other seafood dishes reasonably, they are loved by the locals. Sushi set meal is only for 2100 yen. They are also famous for the "harako-meshi", a local food that is a rice bowl covered with a plenty of fish and the roe. It is also worth trying!

Heiroku is a chain sushi restaurant originated in Sendai. There are several shops in Sendai so you can go visit your nearest one.

They serve in "kaiten sushi" style (also known as conveyor belt sushi) that is very common and popular in Japan. You can pick up your favorite sushi from the conveyor belt which is super fun for both children and adults. Kaiten sushi is usually casual like a fast food. Heiroku's sushi is cheap too (200 yen~), but still very tasty and fresh.

Beko Masamune (べこ政宗)

If you are looking for a special experience in Sendai, you should go this restaurant and try their gyutan (beef tongue) sushi! Located 3 minutes walk from Sendai station.

Sendai is very famous for gyutan. Gyutan is juicy, meaty, and actually healthier than other meat. Usually they grill gyutan to eat, but this restaurant offers gyutan sushi using fatty and tender part of beef tongue. It melts in your mouth. You can try other gyutan dishes from the variety of menu too!
