Katsu
Katsu is a Okonomiyaki restaurant located 3 minutes away from Ryoanji station. It is located close to the world heritage Ryoanji, Ninnaji, Kinkakuji, and more. It is a super local and small restaurant with only two tables and 5 counter seats, but you can have real okonomiyaki here. You can enjoy different types of Okonomiyaki, such as modern yaki, negi yaki, and classical okonomiyaki. Enjoy different tastes of pan fried dishes at Katsu.
Kiraku
Kiraku is a Okonomiyaki restaurant located 5 minutes away from Higashiyama station. There are English menus and English speaking staffs, so if you want to prevent any language issues, this is a good place. They serve various Okonomiyaki and pan fried dishes in a Kyoto style, using regional vegetables as toppings. Their "Tombei Yaki" is the most popular dish, which is an Osaka dish that is an omelet with pork meat. You should give it a try!

Arata is located 4 minutes away from Kyoto station, so it is a good place to stop by right after arrival at Kyoto station or right before leaving Kyoto. However, it is only open during dinner time so be careful with their opening hours! It has a very local atmosphere and is a place that you can easily stop by. They have various types of dishes using hormones, and other pan fried dishes such as yakisoba and okonomiyaki that would go well with a glass of beer.
