YAYOIKEN

YAYOIKEN is a big chain restaurant located in all over the country. It originates in a restaurant called “Yayoiken” that opened in Kayabacho, Tokyo in as early as 1886. Ever since then, they have been popular with all groups from young to old.
They specialize in teishoku, a Japanese style set meal that includes rice, miso soup, and main and side dishes. The main dish is supposed to be the source of protein like fish and meat, and the sides include several kinds of vegetables. It is a well-balanced, healthy, and nutritious meal.

Menu

YAYOIKEN has a variety of teishoku menu from fish to meat. All of them are reasonable and satisfying amount. Also you can get a free refill on your rice.
The deep fried chicken sets are some of the best you can find under ¥1,000. Crispy outside coating and juicy chicken inside. They often come with a tartare or sauce depending on what you order.
Ginger Pork (630 yen) is often seen in the Japanese home cooking. You will get impressed how amazing the combination of pork and ginger flavor is. The tender pork and ginger flavored savory sauce go very well with rice too.
This "mix toji teishoku" (780 yen) is incredible. The main dish is a mix of deep fried shrimp and pork coated with crispy panko and beef that are all simmered with eggs in sweet and savory broth.
The teishoku with mackerel, or "saba" as it is called in Japanese is also one of the staple sets of the restaurant chain. It's really nicely grilled and goes so well with the miso soup and other side dishes it comes with.
Some of the stores serve Japanese style breakfast like natto, which is the best meal to start your day. English menu is available on the official website.
