Yodogawa Fireworks Festival

Ever since 1989, when the festival started by volunteers, this firework festival has been beloved for their special hand-made fireworks. Yodogawa fireworks represent Osaka's summer event. Recently they have changed the event name to "Naniwa Yodogawa Hanabi Taikai". They still aim to revitalize Osaka by hosting their fireworks festival!
Osaka is known as a city of water, due to its numbers of rivers in Osaka. Yodogawa is one of the well known rivers in Osaka, and locals decided to come together as one and host a firework event at Yodogawa, run by volunteers. Huge fireworks goes on for an hour, and you can enjoy the combination of music and beautiful fireworks.
You can buy a ticket and watch fireworks at seats with good views, or you can watch for free from general seats. There might be a chance that you cannot enter riverbed to watch fireworks if you reach there around 6:30 pm, so be careful. Also you should keep in mind that it is strongly recommended to be there early, as you might miss the best part of fireworks due to its crowdedness.
They also have lots of food stalls! Check the link below for more information on food stalls at summer festival in Japan.
