Taiwan Festival 2019 In Yoyogi, Tokyo!

The Taiwan Festival is held everywhere in Yogogi park on July 27-28. Yoyogi. Yoyogi park is a great place to hang out in the summer for picnics and hanging out with friends. Plus there's a fun festival going on all the time, from Brazilian to Thai, let's stop by!

Taiwan Festival In Yoyogi: When and Where?

The Taiwan Festa is held on July 27th and 28th (Saturday & Sunday), between 10:00 AM- 8:00 PM.

It will be held in Yoyogi park around the outdoor stage.

Admission is free, and the event will be held, rain or shine.

<How to get there:>
*On the Yamanote line: you can get there by foot from Shibuya station (around 14 minutes); or Harajuku station (8 minutes).
*With the Chiyoda line: you can get there by from Meijijingumae station (6 minutes); or Yoyogi-Koen station (6 minutes).
*With the Odakyu line: from the Yoyogihachiman station (10 minutes by foot).

What?

There will be many performances on the main stage, as well as food trucks and booths! Let's learn more about Taiwan!!

This event wishes to further the ties between Japan and Taiwan, through sightseeing, industries, entertainment, culture and gourmet food.

Last year, they had around 100,000 visitors, so expect to see even more people this year!
There will also be many performers invited to the event. Past attendees include Aiku Maikawa, a Japanese pop idol of Taiwanese origin; and Mariko, a Japanese actress living in Taipei.

What to eat?

There will be TONS of delicious food stands at this event, let's discover Taiwanese cuisine!!
There will be many stands selling Taiwanese food, such as shoropo "小龍包" (dumplings), Taiwanese alcohol, etc. Dumplings are a staple in Taiwan cuisine!

Mango kakigori "かき氷" (shaved ice) is a very famous Japanese dessert that you should definitely try. It is slightly sweet, and light and so refreshing!
