The Quintessential Taiwanese Restaurant Guide in Tokyo

For those of you craving Taiwanese cuisine in Tokyo, these are the must-go to Taiwanese restaurants in Tokyo. Included here are vegetarian restaurants, and dumpling restaurants!

Chien Fu (健福)

Chien Fu is in Roppongi, abut 5 minutes from the station.
This is a vegetarian restaurant in Roppongi and it has a lot of vegetarian and vegan options. They have vegan fish, chicken, beef and it tastes a lot like the real things for those who miss meat! You should try the spicy eggplant dish!

Din Tai Fung

Din Tai Fung has a few branches across Tokyo, one in Shibuya, in Ebisu, in Ginza, Shinjuku, etc. They have around 19 branches across Japan.
This resto's specialty are dumplings, the pork soup dumpling and shrimp dumplings are simply amazing. But beware, victim to its popularity, this restaurant tends to get very crowded on weekends!

Taiwan Mensen

This restaurant is walking distance from Shiodome station, or Onarimon station, or even Kamiyacho station.
They serve authentic Taiwanese cuisine, and you know it's good when you know Taiwanese people enjoyed the food just as much! Have you tried Taiwan's stinky tofu? A lot like natto, it's not for everyone!

Jin din rou

Jin Din Rou has around 12 branches, so you probably will be able to find one near you! The main store is in Ebisu, a few minutes of the station.
Jin Din Rou is also famous for their dumplings, the food is great, but so is the service and the atmosphere. The vegetable buns are particularly good!

Reikyo

Reikyou is in Shibuya, about 6 minutes from Shibuya station, or Shinsen station.
This is some good Taiwanese food! And the atmosphere is authentic, with the round tables where people can easily share. The food tends to be spicy, but you can ask the waiters their recommendations, they are very helpful!
