Sushi In Hiroshima: 5 Selected Places To Have The Japanese Delicacy!

Sushi is the most popular kind of Japanese cuisine. Understandably when in Japan, wherever you are, you probably want to have it! Hiroshima has some fantastic places to feast on sushi. Here are 5 selected restaurants you should try while in Hiroshima!

Sushi Tatsumidorii

Sushi Tatsumidorii is located at a 5 minute walk from the Midorii Station. It is a fairly big restaurant with 70 seats, including counter seats where you can see the sushi chefs at work! The prices are cheap for the quality here, which makes it an overall top-rated place for sushi. Expect to pay less than 2000 yen for your lunch or evening meal. What's more, this is a kaitensushi restaurant (sushi train), so it is quite entertaining to just watch the plates move around the the restaurant!

Sushi Dokoro Hitoshi

Hitoshi is located at a 5 minute walk from the Chuden Mae Station. This restaurant takes pride in providing great hospitality to its visitors. It serves high-grade fresh sushi toppings coming from Seto, Hakata and Tsushima. It is a bit pricey but well worth going. In a beautiful simple Japanese-style interior, it serves lunch sushi sets for 3000 or 5000 yen, and dinner sets that include high-grade assorted sashimi, soup, some grilled fish, etc. costing typically over 12,000 yen.

Oi Sushi

Oi Sushi is definitely one of the top places for sushi in all of Hiroshima according to many online reviewers. It is located at a 3 minute walk from the Ebisuchou Station. This old, renowned restaurant serves amazing sushi and sashimi in a relaxed atmosphere. This place is only open for dinner time and a typical meal costs between 8,000 and 10,000 yen.

Sushiya Ooto

Sushiya Ooto is a beautiful restaurant that resembles an old Japanese-style house. It is located at about a 10 minute walk from the Saijo Station. It's sushi presentations are top-tier class and the quality is great too. Sushiya Otoo is also a place specializing in Japanese sake! Ask for recommendations! Sake is the perfect accompaniment for sushi. Expect to pay something around 3,000 to 4,000 yen for a lunch, and perhaps double that for a really nice dinner.

Akisaryo

Akisaryo is located at a 6 minute walk from the Ebisucho Station. It specializes in sushi and kaiseki (beautifully presented small dishes). You can even have here ikizukuri type sushi which consists of presenting the food at a table so that it resembles its original form (see the picture below). As a kaiseki restaurant, you can be sure that the presentation will be beautiful, sometimes decorating the plates with leaves and other things as seasonal references. This place is surprisingly reasonable for the quality of food it serves. Expect to pay under 3,000 yen for lunch and over 6,000 yen for a dinner.
