The Most Delightful Cafes in Kagurazaka with a Great Atmosphere!

Kagurazaka is a Kyoto-like traditional city located in the middle of Tokyo. As you walk through the street, you will find many small cafes, from a traditional Japanese to a western style one. Here is a list of the greatest and most popular cafes in Kagurazaka where you can have a nice time with delicious coffee and desserts while relaxing.

Kagurazaka Saryo

It is a hidden yet popular Japanese style cafe located 4 minutes walk from Kagurazaka or Iidabashi station. It has a relaxing and traditional atmosphere.

They specialize in matcha green tea. All their matcha drinks and desserts are made with Kyoto's Uji Matcha, and are nicely bitter and flavorful. The most popular menu is the "Matcha chocolate fondue" (920 yen) where you dip some fruits and snacks in the matcha and white chocolate dipping sauce.

Akagi Cafe

Surprisingly, this cafe is located in a shrine called Akagi Shrine located near Kagurazaka station. You can see the shrine from the inside of the cafe, feeling a kind of holy atmosphere .

They offer a variety of desserts menu as well as lunch meals. Their cakes, like the cheesecake and the chocolate cake are especially popular. You can also try a Japanese famous dessert "anmitsu" that is made of mochi, sweet red bean paste, fruits, ice cream, and so on.

Mugi Maru 2

If you look for an unique cafe experience, Mugi Maru 2 is the place to go. Located 5 minutes walk away from Kagurazaka station, this small cafe has a Japanese retro atmosphere.

You can get a flavorful tea or coffee with manju, a traditional dessert made from a fluffy and sticky cake and a filling. The manju filling is usually sweet red bean paste, but they have a variety of manju like cheese, sesame, and chocolate (all 180 yen).

Mojo Coffee

This is a cafe from New Zealand that is famous for its finest brewed coffee. Around 5 minutes walk from Kagurazaka station.

The interior in simple yet nice and cute. Also the presentations including the cups and latte art are great. The taste of coffee is absolutely amazing, rich in flavors. They also offer breakfast meals, sandwiches, and some desserts that go well with the coffee.

CANAL Cafe

CANAL CAFE is a famous cafe located right near Iidabashi station, which is a stop away from Kagurazaka station.

They have a beautiful terrace seats where you can see the artificial canal. They offer a great Italian dishes at lunch and dinner time too. As they are such a relaxing and romantic cafe, it is a popular date spot.
