9 Things To Do In Nakanoshima, Osaka

Nakanoshima Park

Nakanoshima Park, located just a minute walk from Yodoyabashi station or Kitahama station, is a perfect place to visit on a beautiful day. It was established in 1891, and was the first park ever in Osaka city.

Its greenery bring refreshing and relaxing atmosphere to lots of people. There are lots of cafes and restaurants around the area, and they often have take out menu. You can have picnics with your friends and family at Nakanoshima park!

Nakanoshima Rose Garden

Around May to October, Nakanoshima Park turns into a gorgeous rose garden. It has more than 80 kinds of roses! They also have rose flavored soft serve ice cream which is a must-try.

Kitahama Terrace

Kitahama Terrace is where they have Osaka's riverbed! Riverbed is known as "Yukadoko" in Japanese, and it is a type of seating that is commonly available during summer. However, Kitahama Terrace is open all year round! There are lots of restaurants where you can have nice meals with a great view, so if you are looking for a place to have lunch or dinner, definitely check it out!

Osaka City Central Public Hall

Osaka City Central Public Hall is one of the Osaka's symbols where all the intelligence, culture and history is assembled. It opened in 1918. Inside has European but somewhat Japanese architectural designed spaces.

Nakanoshima Library

Nakanoshima Library is also a great place to take photos! It has a retro atmosphere, and you can see the traditional and beautiful rooms. Its architectural design is also highly evaluated.

Aqua Liner

If you want to cruise Nakanoshima area, go for Aqua Liner! It takes you to Osaka Castle and around Nakanoshima area, and it's a 55 minute cruise. The price is ¥850 for children and ¥1,700 for adults.

Night Cruise at Kitahama Rumba

If you want to have a whole boat to yourself, try Kitahama Rumba where you can enjoy night river cruise for ¥30,000 per boat for 60 minutes (maximum 9 people). Kitahama Rumba is a Spanish restaurant that offers beautiful view and great food and drinks. For cruising, they will offer a bottle of champagne or wine.
They have two cruise options where you get a beautiful night view of Nakanoshima or the heart of Minami (Namba area) where you get to see the energetic night life of Dotonbori area.

Washoku Home Cooking

Did you know that washoku (Japanese cuisine) was acknowledged as UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage? If you are looking for a place to learn how to cook Japanese cuisine (washoku), try Washoku Home Cooking! They offer a variety of cooking classes on Japanese cuisines as well as Halal Japanese cuisine, which is why it's really popular among tourists!

Wasobi

Wasobi is a place where you can try on Japanese traditional clothes, Kimono! You can rent Kimono for the price of maximum ¥5,500!
