6 Things To Do in Narita - Sightseeing and Fun Activities around Narita Airport!


Make most of your visit of Narita! If you have a flight or layover at Narita airport, will stay a hotel around Narita, there are many things to do, from sightseeing to shopping. Here is a list of places worth visiting during your trip!

1. Naritasan Shinshoji Temple (成田山新勝寺)

Naritasan Shinshoji Temple is a beautiful site with a lot of huge temple buildings, cultural facilities, peaceful gardens, and lively shopping street. It is just around a 15 minute drive away from Narita airport, or a 10 minute walk from Narita station. Amazing atmosphere with over 1000 years of history that will make you feel the Japanese traditions.

2. Narita Yume Farm (成田ゆめ牧場)

Narita yume bokujo (literally Narita dream farm) is a beautiful farm which is suitable for families and couples. You can have a relaxing time: milking cows, riding ponies, cycling, seeing cute animals, and eating freshly made ice cream! 1400 yen for 12 years old and older; 700 yen for children under 11. You can take a free bus bound for the farm from Suruga station.
During summer, you can also see the sunflower maze which is huge and beautiful.

3. Boso no Mura (房総のむら)

Boso no Mura is a reproduction of a village where you can experience the life of people in the past. You can see the traditional and cultural buildings and other things. Also you can experience many things like making a traditional crafts, cooking, and wearing samurai clothes and swords. Ticket fee is cheap, adults; 300 yen and students; 150 yen. You can access by bus bound for "Ryukakuji-dai-shako" from the JR Narita Station or Narita airport, and get off at "Ryukakuji-dai-2-chome" stop.

4. Narita Market (成田市場)

This is a lively market selling mainly fish and vegetables. Around 20 minutes by car from Narita airport or 10 minutes on foot from Kouzunomori station. You can see huge tuna and other fish and eat fresh and reasonable seafood dishes like sushi at the restaurants in the market. They open from 6:30 to 10:30 and close on Sundays and Wednesdays.

5. Museum of Aeronautical Science (航空科学博物館)

If you don't have much time before your flight, there is an interesting museum near Narita airport. They display a variety of aircraft, flight simulators, aviation, and more that are amazing to take a close look at. You can also learn the history of Japanese aircrafts. 500 yen for adults, 300 yen for students, and 200 yen for children.

6. Shisui Premium Outlet (酒々井プレミアムアウトレット)

If you love shopping, visit this mall. It is a huge outlet mall with a bunch of shops including Japanese popular brands. You will be able to find a variety of stuffs that are surprisingly cheap. There is a bus directly bound for the mall from Narita airport that takes only 15 minutes. Or you can also take a bus from Shisui station.
