Yakiniku Near Shinagawa Station: 5 Selected Restaurants!

Shinagawa is a major station in Tokyo located to the south of the city. Shinkansen trains pass through the station so you'll find many tourists and people leaving on business trips there. It also has its fair share of good yakiniku restaurants! If you feel like eating grilled meat while you're staying or transiting in Shinagawa, here are some restaurants you should check out!

This place is located at just a minute walk from the Shinagawa Station Konan Exit. It has an old-school Showa atmosphere and it's also one of the most popular restaurant of the area for yakiniku! You can have wagyu (Japanese beef) sets here for cheap (1,600 yen or less) during lunch time and you also get a large size bowl of rice for free with set menu orders. For dinner, you can expect to pay around 5,000 yen if you order drinks too! A very good standard yakiniku place!

Yakiniku Shubo Banya

Located at a 2 minute walk from the Konan Exit of the Shinagawa Station. This is a great little hidden gem that has a homely atmosphere. This is another amazingly great place to come for lunch! You can get a set meal of 980 yen with 150 grams of beef! With that you get seasoned vegetables, kimchi, wakame soup and rice. For dinner the place is more pricey and you can choose from a good selection of Japanese sake and shochu.

Jojoen Shinagawa Prince Hotel Store

Jojoen is a fancy yakiniku restaurant located on the first floor of the Prince Hotel North Tower near Shinagawa Station. The decor is elegant and you'll see that there is great care put into the presentation of the plates. Only high quality meat is used here and the staff will be glad to give you recommendations. Most orders of meat are 2,000 yen or over so expect to pay around 5,000 yen for lunch and perhaps 10,000 yen for dinner. A bit pricey but you'll feel and taste the quality here!


Tonton is another nice and affordable yakiniku restaurant located on a back street near Shinagawa Station. You can get very affordable set meals for lunch such as the popular one shown below of Korean-style marinated bbq ribs (karubi)! This is accompanied by kimchi, salads and a bowl of rice. Hot pot stews are very popular here for dinner too! A dinner course meal should cost you less than 5,000 yen.


Sansuien is located at a 3 minute walk from the Konan Exit of the Shinagawa Station. This place has great Korean-style yakiniku and they also make their own kimchi! Tripes are also good here. This place is very affordable too. You can have a meal for less than 1,000 yen for lunch and less than 4,000 for dinner! Sansuien is open everyday of the week too. A great place to try out!
