Isomaru Suisan - Casual Izakaya Where You Grill Fresh Seafood on The Table!

Tokyo

If you're looking for a great izakaya (Japanese style bar) or a big fan of seafood, you should try Isomaru Suisan. It is a causal chain restaurant often found near stations in Tokyo and the cities. The fresh seafood grilled in front of you is amazing! It's a place where you can order seafood and grill it yourself in the tiny grill they provide: clams, scallops and squid.

Isomaru Suisan is a chain izakaya (Japanese style bar) that has as many as 150 branches throughout Japan. Especially in Tokyo, many of the major stations, like Shinjuku and Shibuya, one more more branches nearby.

Most of them also open 24 hours. People come to eat reasonable lunch during lunch time and drink with friends at night.
They have a very lively atmosphere especially at night. The old-fashioned decoration with
giant flags often flown from fishing boats of Japan and smoky smell will make you feel as if you are in a fishing port.

They offer a reasonable lunch menu. You can get kaisendon with your choice of seafood on the top. Kaisendon is a Japanese dish where a bowl of rice is topped with a variety of raw seafood. It is usually expensive, but their kaisendon is around 800 yen at Isomaru suisan.

Dinner menu

The most exciting thing is grilling fresh seafood by yourself. Each table has a small grill so you can order seafood and grill them in front of you. They have several kinds of shellfish that are big and has fine texture.

Get beer or sake, which goes really well with the seafood. They have other drink menu like cocktails too.

Lastly...
