Monja, Japanese style pan-fried batter, is an example of Japanese comfort food, mainly eaten in the Kanto region. While it mainly consists of similar ingredients to okonomiyaki, such as shredded cabbage and flour, monja is more runny because of the fish broth (dashi) included. Some of the typical toppings for monja include, cod roe, seafood, and meat. After ordering, the waiter will bring a metal bowl filled with the ingredients and soup.
